, serving the Baltimore & Washington Metropolitan area, is seeking an Asphalt Plant Laborer for our Woodbine, MD, Asphalt Plants.
Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for maintaining the plant and equipment and conducting clean up in and around the plant.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate a skid steer Ability to sweep and shovel Must be able to climb stairs/ladders Must be able to help with maintaining equipment Conducts housekeeping and routine maintenance around the plant Work with minimum supervision Performs work in a safe and efficient manner Knowledge of basic maintenance of equipment Deals with co-workers, customer, and public in a respectful manner Incorporates accident prevention and corrective measures in all activities Able to work in a safe manner, follow OSHA guidelines and keep work area clean.
Must have a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment.
Assist with daily asphalt plant maintenance and repairs Possess excellent communication and organizational skills Must be able available to work some weekends Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:
Full-Time Non-Exempt Position Salary based on knowledge and experience WORKING CONDITIONS:
The duties of this position will be performed outside and may be exposed to airborne particles, outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts.
The noise level is usually moderate but at times may be exposed to loud noises.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time Walk, bend, kneel, and twist Talk and hear Lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required EDUCATION:
High school or general education degree (GED) preferred
Experience:
Previous experience as a laborer in asphalt plant preferred
