Summary:
Camp Director is responsible for supporting various aspects of Camping & Recreation to ensure a smooth onboarding process for campers and seasonal staff.
This includes registering participants for programs, parent/provider communication, and providing participants with individual programs are followed.
Additionally, the Camp Director is responsible for maintaining the organization of the seasonal staff files, assisting with recruiting seasonal staff, and ensuring appropriate communication and documentation occurs during onboarding.
The Camp Director is also responsible for financial aspects such as participant Accounts Receivable and staff payroll.
This includes assisting families who are looking for adult DDA respite services.
Camp Director is responsible for assisting in all the operations of both summer and winter Camping & Recreation programs, including but not limited to assisting with program check-in/out days and in-person programming as needed.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ability to work and live at camp during summers and periodically throughout the year to supervise operations.
Register all participants for Camping & Recreation programs within seven business days of receiving the registration materials and regularly maintain online registrations.
Maintain and develop relationships with current and new camp families.
Take a lead role in participant recruitment.
(Monitor enrollment to ensure programs meet the minimum amount to be successful; do additional marketing to ensure the program will run.
) Work with families to secure DDA respite funding to use for camp programming.
Develop and maintain community partnerships with local organizations.
Coordinate all aspects of marketing, program design, and communications with the camp's online system database.
Set up new seasons and forms for online registration in the camp online system for campers and staff.
Input and update registration information in a timely manner in the camp's online system.
Work with the Finance Office to ensure billing and general ledger documentation are documented correctly and a positive cash flow is maintained.
Work with the Vice President and Camp Manager to meet budget projections and get proper approval for all program expenses.
Take a lead role in designing and mailing the biannual program guide and other community mailings (Visitor's Day, Open House, etc.
) Complete billing through the camp online system, Sage100, and Medicaid in a timely mannertrack participants who utilize the Autism Waiver and ensure proper documentation for all participant files.
Assist the Camp Manager with the recruitment of seasonal staff as needed.
Once staff are hired, take a lead role in collecting all documentation required from various credentialing and funding agencies and ensuring staff files are kept current with certifications and qualifications as needed.
Work with the Camp Management Team to ensure communication with potential employees throughout the onboarding process.
Assist the Camp Management Team with coordinating staff training, and facilitate training as needed.
Work with the Camp & Community Programs manager and the VP to schedule appropriate year-round seasonal staff.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for year-round camp staff, make up orientation for late-hire summer staff, and coordinate all seasonal and year-round camp staff training plans.
Other Duties Provide Mandt training for both League and camp staff.
Ensure payroll for the seasonal staff is processed in a timely manner in coordination with the Finance Office.
Assist in the facilitation and planning of Camping and Recreation programs.
Work with other administrators to ensure all programs follow state, MSDE, and ACA guidelines.
Act as an alternate in the absence of the Camp Manager.
Coordinate fleet management for camp programs.
Assist in the general direction of camp and complete other duties as assigned.
Operationalize the mission of The League for People with Disabilities, Inc.
by creating a supportive environment for participants and staff.
Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League (Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence, and Mutual Respect).
Minimum age of 21.
Have a clean driving record with no more than 2 points.
Ability and training to do a single-person transfer for a person weighing up to 150 lbs.
Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Mandt Educational and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field; CTRS is preferable.
3-5 years experience working with / transporting participants with disabilities.
Minimum of 2 years experience supervising recreation or camp programs Past supervisory experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
